This Build should exactly act like yesterdays.
It is just released to make sure we didn’t screw something up.

Google Chrome Extension – Fancy Bookmarks

Since Google has deleted Fancy Bookmarks three times from the Chrome Webstore, i’m posting it here.

Cause for the deletion?
Lazy users who are not able to read.
How unexpected. ;-)

Some Examples:
“I CANNOT UNINSTALL, PLX PLX PLX HELP!!!!!!111111″ -> rate with zero stars -> huh? Wrench -> Tools -> Extensions -> Uninstall. Where’s the Problem? Oh yeah, it’s sitting in front of the keyboard.
“HELP HELP HELP, REPLACES ANY NEW TAB WITH ITSELF!!!! EVIL EVIL!!!” -> rate with zero stars -> huh? see features? it’s stated there.

Sometimes i really want a rating function for users. If a users gets enough “zero-star”-rates -> cut his internet connection forever!

Access your favourite websites faster than ever before with just a single click!

::: Features :::
- Create, Edit, Move and Delete Bookmarks.
- Creates Browsershots of your favourite websites without user interaction.
- Modify Grid Layout and Colors on Options-Page.
- Option for opening new Tabs as new Tab, as Background Tab and in current Tab.
- Export/Import all Data and Settings
- Replaces “newtab” with itself

(Right Click -> Save as -> move it into your Browser Window)

Next steps…

Think we made good progress on CM9 for the SGS2 till now.

To fix the remaining bugs we need kernel sources from samsung and some exynos4 specific bits from origenboard we’re waiting for.
Hope both are releasing sources this month so that we’re done with the SGS2 specific part when CM9 is finished.

You know, CM9 isn’t finished yet. There are a lot of features and tweaks missing. These experimental builds aren’t showing the real potential of CM9. ;-)

And if everything is running fine on our SGS2, then it doesn’t mean we’re finished. Our goal is to eliminate most of the closed source parts we have to use at the moment. That’s the part which is the most hard and which i would call “the real work”.

Maybe we can get some time now to work on a Filemanager for CM while waiting for sources. Since i ruptured my ligaments of the right foot at the new years morning while going home from a great party, i’ve some free time this week.

Stay tuned and enjoy the experimental builds.

Happy new Year!!!

I wish all of you a happy new year and healthiness to you and your families.

Hope you’re having a good party with your friends and enjoy starting into 2012.
My magical orb says, that it will be a great year for android.
Let’s celebrate!

Merry X-Mas.

No official ICS for Galaxy S!

Dear Samsung Community!
We’ll not tolerate this!

It’s now up to all of you to make Samsung update our Phones! Fight for it!
The Galaxy S is 15 Months old now and for example a contract duration in germany is 24 months. I expect that we’ll get updates for at least 24 Months!
This can’t be serious.

a) Update to 4.x without TouchWiz
b) Release aosp compatible binarys like google does for nexus devices
c) Release full sourcecode!

If they’re not updating the Galaxy S, then i’ll never every buy any samsung phone!

androidnext.de hands-on video

I’ve handed out a fresh build of CyanogenMod 9 for the Galaxy S II to

http://www.androidnext.de/

Frank Ritter, one of the guys behind this great news site, wants to make a “hands-on” video tomorrow if he gets time and everything goes well.
He also wants to show the problems we’re still having. Hope this makes it more clear then.

Stay tuned! ;-)

Status Update for CM9 on Galaxy S II

Probably the last status update for this year.

What’s NOT working:
- RIL crashes on providers with NITZ, makes phone unusable (need new leak)
- button backlights (samsung has to fix it, they’ve messed it up)
- low haptic feedback (need kernel sources to fix it)
- sensors aren’t working very good (need kernel sources)
- video recording (need new leak)
- youtube video playback (black)
- some additonal video codecs

There are probably a few little things more, but nothing which kills your cats.
We could have fixed most of the stuff if we would have kernel sources.

As long as RIL isn’t fixed, we’ll not release this baby. The Phone is fully unusable without the ability to do phone calls or use the data connection. It can only be used as Gameboy, but not as Smartphone or mobile phone. ;-)
If there will be another leak this year, which makes RIL usable, then we’ll release it.

Pray for a new leak. ;-)

Don’t be bad with me if i’m not answering on comments.

Happy X-Mas to every reader!
