    Codeworkx, Are you now officially done with development of CM for the I9300?

  2. Gustav says:

    Yes, they hate us! Shame Samsung, never again a Samsung device…

  3. Jure says:

    Very well done. Doubt it’ll make any difference though.

    Sammy hardly knows or cares XDA exists, it’s all about the money and they’re pretty obvious about that. Seems they’ve copied apple even more and gone closed source, closed system and closed-minded with their attitudes. I wish this topic mattered to the masses more than it does but sadly most users don’t even know what ICS or Jellyean is.
    Just acquired the Galaxy Nexus with a nice case which hides the samsung logo….perfect!

    Pretty much had it with the Android ecosystem. If I ever get another Android it will be the Nexus, so at least I’ll get timely updates. Samsung, Sony, HTC etc all slap their shit on the phones and they release (IF they release) updated versions of Android far too late in the cycle imho.

    Going to give Windows Phone 8 a try, despite people generally being negative/skeptical about it. They’ve promised 18 months of support for Windows Phone 8 devices, which is longer than I usually own a phone anyway so I figured it can’t harm.

    The only thing that could sway me now would be a new Nexus device that has an equally amazing camera and has an excellent build quality like the Nokia Lumias.

    Last but not least thanks codeworkx,atinm,xplodwild and everyone else at the Cyanogenmod team for making my SGS 1 and 2 fun and useable.

    Just wondering why after all the donations and everything else people have paid out to you, that you decide at the drop of a hat to give up on Samsung devices?

    You have basically done the same as what another developer did, by getting rich quick, and then dropping all your loyal fans at the click of a button.

    Shame, you are in my eyes just as bad as Samsung… take our money and then screw us.

    Thanks from,
    Not one of your loyal ass licking fans!

      Hello Troll.

      Do you really think we’re getting rich because of a few donations?
      You’re totally wrong.

      Do you even know how much of our freetime we’re spending day by day for unrespectfull guys like you?
      Sleep -> Job -> CM -> Sleep -> Job -> CM…
      4-5 Hours per Weekday, more than 12 hours on Saturdays and more than 12 Hours on Sundays.

      It’s not our fault that you can’t run AOSP properly on your device.
      It’s yours. You bought the wrong phone. Because the product package says “Touchwiz” and not “CyanogenMod”.

      There’s basically only one right answer for you: STFU

        Interesting idea! They should build phones with a label like “cyanogenmod reday” ;-) I once bought a S2 because I thought: “Hey these guys at samsung spent the cm-team some phones to support their development. This attitude is way better than HTCs (I had a desire)”. Now it shows that it just was a lousy pr-stunt…
        At the moment I’m looking for an alternative for my S2 with the best cm-support. I know the answer: get a nexus. But all these nexus devices are somehow hardware limited (storage, sd-card support, camera…) compared to the vendors own top devices. The experia t from good old sony finally seems to be the alternative I was looking for.
        Are there any other current devices? At which detail do I have to pay the most attention regarding the “cm ready”-label besides the soc (qualcomm or ti)?
        Many, many thx for all the hard work and time you spent to make this sumsung crap usable!!!

        • codeworkx says:

          There’s no way to determine if a device is “cm-ready” or not.
          Device maintainers can tell you after they’ve worked with it for some time. ;-)

          I think Xperia T is good to go. Didn’t see any dealbreaker yet.

      Hah. You’re not owed anything, this is all volunteer work and you VOLUNTEERED to give them your money. Tons of projects that are free AND paid are abruptly cancelled while Teamhacksung has kept at it for three devices from Samsung. Fuck Samsung. I really dislike their Android-based products and their cheap build quality :P

      If your getting an Android device then go for the next rumored Nexus or the current Galaxy Nexus.

    @unknown.
    You totally miss the point of why these guys do this. They’d do it without a community or any forums to post on. You think the time and effort it takes to pull off this kind of development can be compensated in any monetary way, or makes up for how much time and effort it requires to do the task? You sir, are crazy. Also, you are only posting to satisfy your sense of self-entitlement as you feel like a small child which has been denied its best toy.
    Time to grow a pair and grow up kid and do your own dev work.

    You’re an ass. Codeworkx has a life too. Nobody who gets donations is getting rich. If you don’t like this, do what some if us are doing and stop supporting samsung. Make your next purchase a nexus.
