Yes, it’s true. I’m still using the Nexus as main phone and not the S III.
Why?
- looks better
- feels better
- works better
- lasts longer
So Samsungs big flagship phone isn’t a flagship? Right.
- fully missconfigured display (oversaturation, eyekiller, unnatural)
- bezel doesn’t protect the display
- buttons are missplaced
- home button is hard to press
- damaged coating out of the box
- damaged home button out of the box (scratches, checked on multiple S3s)
- touchkey backlight lights into the display
- back looks ugly
- phone feels very cheap
- overall quality is pretty low
- exynos platform is still painfull
How much love can you expect from me for those phones?
Pretty much zero. Can you see the amount of fuck i give?
And now?
Awaiting your flames.

Same here. Previous owner of a SGSII. Got fed up with the shittiness and went Nexus. It’s a one-way trip.
I’m using the Galaxy Nexus as well, with the official extended battery. I was immediately disappointed when the S3 was announced as it didn’t look good, both hardware and the mostly unchanged software.
I have qualms with the Galaxy Nexus as well, the biggest gripe being the poor camera. I also liked the tighter rectangle, as I’m not a big fan of rounded phones. I came from using the S2, which I absolutely loved, but had to change phones since I moved to T-Mobile and the radio wasn’t compatible.
Thanks for all your hard work!
I can’t agree more. I was an S2 owner, then I got fed up by the slow updates. Went Nexus, and without any regrets. Now I’m a proud owner of Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 7. Never been happier. Pure Android is pure…
HuHu D.H.
Herzlichst
Well, I have an S3 (did not even pay for it), still think this is quite a good device, I thought at first that it looked cheaper but I like it a lot now and could not go back to an S2.
On the exynos platform, we are still depending on Samsung sources which makes it a pain in the ass I guess…
No flames. Sounds like you have a thorn in your shoe called Samsung closed shop and you’re entitled to critique their new offerings. It doesn’t make you right or wrong. However, over the last few months you have developed a deep distaste for the way sammy do things so dropping them is the only way to feel better.
Good luck from the sidelines…
Y-U-NO-DISS TouchWiz?
No flame. Previous owner of a SGSII too and a proud Galaxy Nexus owner now. General hardware on SII was better, but I still think the GN is the most beautiful Android on the market. And after my first OTA straight from Google I think this phone will remain a long time in my pocket
Even if you decide you won’t support Samsung phones anymore I still wanna thank you for all the hard work you put in. I’m using CM10 on my S2, despite the annoying memleak and no butter, but I don’t care. You put a new lease of life in my phone just when I got bored with it and I can live with those problems. I understand that fighting with windmills isn’t fun, Sammy should pay more attention to guys like you. Anyway, hope you get drawn back into it if Samsung does release something useful but even if not, thanks.
I have also done the same ….
Had a SGS2 and wanted JB immediately after the google announcement. Thought for a little while if I should sell off the SGS2 and “downgrade (hardware)” to the Galaxy Nexus.
Happy with my final decision…..Nexus all the way for me….. Can’t wait for the new Nexus phone(s) coming out soon !! Just hope its quad core with a microSD card….
time to update?

I went from the s1 to the s2 to the s3 and i must say that you forgot some point,
- The back cover does not fit right feels very uncomfortable!
- There is a gap between the bezel and the screen that collects dust and makes my s3 look like its a 3 years used piece of shit.
and something about samsung service point in the Netherlands…. they can only send your phone to a repair company….
every consumer can send his phone to repair after filling in one form on the internet.. so if you like every person in the world can call himself a samsung service point
samsung customer service is even worse, to give you an indication; they don’t know how to check from which country your firmwar is.
Still owns a s2. But a G version 1. Proud of omap..
+1
I’m a proud owner of nexus’ little brother codeworkx knows what I mean
Ti-omap ♥
I’m proud to have nexus’ little brother , codeworkx knows what I mean tiomap
Codeworkx: by saying “lasts longer” do you mean Galaxy Nexus lasts longer on standard battery compared to SGS3?
Daniel, how do you estimate a chance of getting work “butter” on i9100? From 1 to 10 scale. In your opinion, is it reasonable to sell i9100 and buy i9250? Sorry for my English.
Cheers
Without sources 1, with sources 10.
Thanks for all your hard work. Samsung went backwards. The s2 design was so much better than the s3. Pulled out my s2 the other day and it makes my s3 look like shit. I will be getting the xperia t also, sick of the yellow hues on white images. And snapdragon s4 is fast enough. Playing HD games is ridiculous. Its too hard and annoying
Careful, who’s going to be using CM anymore after everybody’s been driven away from the devices with the shitty manufacturer’s software to the Nexus line?
We just bought 4 S3s at my company, while I love the phone quality assurance seems to be highly deficient. One phone arrive with a non-functioning rear-camera. another arrived with a non-functioning proximity sensor. So 50% of the phones were broken on arrival.
