RIL is very unstable, even on the leak.
It’s not usable. Probably have to wait for a newer leak. 
My o2 card doesn’t work, my vodafone card works.
Might be NITZ related.
Some little bugs here and there like unamplifed haptic feedback, broken sdcards and some other little things.
Sound is working, Mic is working 
, Camera is working, Wifi is working, Bluetooth is working, HWComposer, TVOutService is up…
To fix every little bug we need kernel sources for sure. So probably in january 2012.
If we can get RIL stable, we might release a aosp/cm9 build for you.
But don’t point at us if we don’t.

Would it not be possible to simply take the working portions (for example, mic) and merge them with what you had before?
If I’m not mistaken, your build had the basics working, but was deemed useless by you due to the mic not working during calls. Isn’t it possible to take the bit the makes the mic work from the leaked build, and merge with your own?
No because RIL and Audio are working together for doing Phone calls.
It’s not possible to use old RIL and new Audio.
Fixing one thing breaks another.
And if you look at how the RIL and Audio in the leak are connected, it’s not possible to fix the ril in your build (write the connection between RIL and audio yourself) with the leak as example? You’ve probably ruled this out already yourself, but you never know…

Can’t you try to use a galaxy nexus baseband firmware into the I9100, as hardware is the same for baseband (baseband chip : Intel® X-GOLD™ 626) ?
I don’t know if it can get the RIL stable, but i was thinking about that cause of hardware similitudes.

it’s just having the same chip, but the ril will probably load the baseband firmware from another partition on galaxy nexus.
also audio is different on galaxy nexus.

Anybody know what exactly is Steve’s position at S*****g Mobile? Obviously he can’t assign himself to work on the SGS II’s ICS upgrade. But at least, hopefully they’re putting him to work on future models, i.e. SGS III etc, so S*****g’s code won’t be all weird and broken (not following guidelines, doing things in a way that doesn’t make any sense, breaking everything), or Codeworkx put it “Quick and dirty”.
Is the ROM that you have the same as the one that has yet to be leaked later in the week? Are you still going to have the same RIL issues, or is there hope that it may be different?
Afaik sammobiles got two roms. The newer one is what we’re having.
But like i’ve said, i would call it pre pre pre alpha.
That’s interesting, because SamMobile’s Twitter account said “Good news everything seems to be working final test over next days. Its not the fastest but who cares first” … I doubt they’d say “Everything seems to be working” if the part that makes the phone a phone doesn’t work.
I guess we’ll just cross our fingers and wait.
#SamMobile just tweeted a reply to @PetrutB regarding the different versions of the leaked ROMs. My interpretation of the tweet is that the other ROM works where as the other one they gave to Codewokx doesn’t.
The one i’m having is the newer one and it looks like they’ve upgraded RIL and are not yet finished.
The older one uses the old RIL and this works better. I’m having both versions now.
But as long as it’s a fast moving target, it doesn’t make sense to put more time into it.

Good going, codeworkx! Would love to see this ROM asap on my phone! I’ve rooted my phone & installed ClockworkMod, but haven’t yet flashed a ROM. I’ve promised in the name of Android, that the first ROM I install on my phone would be CM9! I really do wonder about the skills that you pro devs possess!
Is the RIL broke in the leak build too or just in the CM build because SamMobile said their build is fine and everything works.
On the older build it seems to work with both of my providers.
The newer works on vodafone but not on o2.
So can you use the kernel and RIL from the old build to get it to work until we get kernel source leaks?
So there may stil be some hope for a stable enough build, right?

Well, I like what you do for us, how much time you spend to make things works but I give you an advice Codeworkx: take your time, relax, because until Samsung don t release some fully working such as libraries and drivers you’ d waste precious time, taking it off to your family and your life opportunities out of coding life. Samsung RIL is incompatible to AOSP RIL.
It never was compatible, we had to fix it on every phone, and on every version.

98% of all custom roms are just re-painted TW-Roms.
We’re doing CM9 which will be based upon aosp, clean, fast, with usefull tweaks and user friendly.
Launcher will be the stock ICS Launcher with usefull tweaks like hiding this annoying google search bar and so on.
RIL might not be a problem. China’s operators including CMCC and CUC donot support RIL. So why not relese a package for users in China to have a taste? Really appreciate your work. ^_^
