Here we go:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20671183

Don’t expect any support or help!
This is fully unsupported. We’ll not answer any Questions.

Remind: If your provider supports NITZ, this is fully useless for you.

To send us some usefull logs for the NITZ problem, use this form:

Merry X-Mas.

No official ICS for Galaxy S!

Dear Samsung Community!
We’ll not tolerate this!

It’s now up to all of you to make Samsung update our Phones! Fight for it!
The Galaxy S is 15 Months old now and for example a contract duration in germany is 24 months. I expect that we’ll get updates for at least 24 Months!
This can’t be serious.

a) Update to 4.x without TouchWiz
b) Release aosp compatible binarys like google does for nexus devices
c) Release full sourcecode!

If they’re not updating the Galaxy S, then i’ll never every buy any samsung phone!

SIGN THIS PETITIONS TO SHOW SAMSUNG THAT WE DON’T TOLERATE WHAT THEY’RE DOING:

CyanogenMod 9 hands-on video by androidnext.de

Here we go.
English version coming soon.

German:

English:

Looks like Frank’s phone survived the first day without going crazy. ;-)

androidnext.de hands-on video

I’ve handed out a fresh build of CyanogenMod 9 for the Galaxy S II to

http://www.androidnext.de/

Frank Ritter, one of the guys behind this great news site, wants to make a “hands-on” video tomorrow if he gets time and everything goes well.
He also wants to show the problems we’re still having. Hope this makes it more clear then.

Stay tuned! ;-)

Status Update for CM9 on Galaxy S II

Probably the last status update for this year.

What’s NOT working:
- RIL crashes on providers with NITZ, makes phone unusable (need new leak)
- button backlights (samsung has to fix it, they’ve messed it up)
- low haptic feedback (need kernel sources to fix it)
- sensors aren’t working very good (need kernel sources)
- video recording (need new leak)
- youtube video playback (black)
- some additonal video codecs

There are probably a few little things more, but nothing which kills your cats.
We could have fixed most of the stuff if we would have kernel sources.

As long as RIL isn’t fixed, we’ll not release this baby. The Phone is fully unusable without the ability to do phone calls or use the data connection. It can only be used as Gameboy, but not as Smartphone or mobile phone. ;-)
If there will be another leak this year, which makes RIL usable, then we’ll release it.

Pray for a new leak. ;-)

Don’t be bad with me if i’m not answering on comments.

Happy X-Mas to every reader!

Please stop asking for a release!

Short listing to remind you of the actual state / problems:

Using Kernel 2.6.35:
- No Mic in Calls
- No Camera
- No Video Codecs
- No USB-Sharing

Using Kernel 3.0.9:
- No Ringtones, GUI sounds
- Sensors aren’t working good
- RIL crashes for providers with NITZ
- no SD-Cards using OpenSource Vold
- no Button backlight
- low haptic feedback
- and probably a lot more

Both cases are not acceptable and making a daily use impossible. So stop asking for a release.
It’s done when it’s done!!! Respect this!

The only thing you can do is to be patient and stop bugging us.
We’re waiting for a new leak and kernel sources. And because we can wait without bugging anyone, we’re expecting the same from you!!!

CyanogenMod 7 – 12172011 – GalaxyS2

I think everyone knows that there will be no new CyanogenMod 7 Nightlies anymore. But this doesn’t mean that we’re not able to do some builds for you.

Here is one, get and enjoy it!

Changelog:
http://cm-nightlies.appspot.com/?device=galaxys2
(last change: audio: soundbooster config file)

Download:

You can also use ROM-Manager to update your device.
Have a look at my section there.

codeworkx got gnexed!

Finally, got my GNex. :-)

No, i’ll not stop developing for the Galaxy S II.
The GNex will be my daily Driver, so i can haxx on the Galaxy S II and don’t have to restore to a working ROM every evening which is actually very annoying.

What shall i say…
Looks cool, feels cool, is cool. ;-)
The camera is really damn fast.
I’m already in love.

EDIT:
like expected, i was not able to resist.
it’s running a fresh build of cm9. ;-)
